1. Communication with leader
Before performing a version update, it is recommended to:
- Inform the edinn leader about the improvements and changes available in the new version. The list of changes of the new version is available in the “Revision notes” section of the user's guide.
- Let the user know that the system might stop for a while during this process, causing a possible data loss (typically only statuses) during that period.
- Come to an agreement with users about a date and time to upgrade. In case any assistance would be needed, it is recommended to upgrade in the morning.
- Send all the previous information to the edinn leader and obtain his/her written approval to upgrade.
NOTE: In the edinn support services, the provision of new versions of the edinn system, only includes the provision of the necessary files and the procedures to update them, but does not include any update, conversion, recovery process, or adaptation of any tailored developments (those in the API or UDL modules for example). All these services will be consumed from the client's service support hours. Tailored or particular developments and those in the API or UDL modules, are not guaranteed in any form. Edinn will not be responsible if these elements fail, even after an edinn system version update, and they will not be considered an issue or defect of the standard edinn system. Although we provide our new versions’ updates after extensive and complete testing, it is not possible to guarantee that a new version will not affect in anyway the use of our products.
